PHILLIP TOUTANT

Drummer/Percussion

Born in Fort McMurray AB, Phil began playing drums after receiving his first kit on his 12th birthday. He learned to play by listening to and playing along with recordings. At 16 he began drum lessons at the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he would end up teaching just 2 years later. Having taken advantage of every opportunity possible, Phil met many valuable people that motivated him to continue him playing over the years, and that inspired his decision to pursue music through post secondary education. Keyano College offered him the opportunity to teach drums with the Royal Conservatory of Music during his second semester there.

Between the years 2010 and 2014, Phil moved to Nanaimo, BC to continue his schooling. During his time in western Canada he's played in Funk bands, Ska bands, and a number of different Jazz combos. Over summers, Phil would spend his time back home in Fort Mac, playing with a number of local and traveling country + rock artists like Shantelle Davidson, Dan Gillies, The Boostroms, and Jerry Sereda. At the end of 2014,  Phil would move to Edmonton, Alberta and begin playing in country/rock cover bands with artists like David Jukebox Leigh, Sean Gristwood and The Tradesmen.
